Ni-Sen Karate

Steve began his long journey in Karate in 1974 at the age of 14. He was instantly hooked and apart from a couple of family holidays, never missed a training session. Progressing through the grades quickly he was awarded 1st dan black belt by the British Karate Association in 1977. His competition career began in 1976 as a member of one of the Ishinryu teams at the B.K.A. national championships held at Crystal Palace. The team finished in third place and it was the beginning of a competition career that spanned 20 years and saw him represent England and Great Britain at both kata (formal prearranged exercises) and kumite (sparring). Steve has taught literally hundreds of people over the years and his classes are both well attended and respected. When past students enrol their children and then their grandchidren that's a testament to Steve's professionalism and dedication.
